Massimo Lunardon was born in Marostica, Vicenza, in 1964. Since taking his degree in Industrial Design at the Domus Academy in 1991, he has made blown glass the focus of his work in both art and design. He has worked with a number of firms, such as Artemide, Driade, Flos, Memphis, Bisazza, Tag Heuer, Mont Blanc, and Zani & Zani, creating prototypes and objects in limited series. He has produced similar objects in limited series for many designers, including: Andrea Anastasio, Ron Arad, Aldo Cibic, Javier Mariscal, Marc Newson, Denis Santachiara, Matteo Thun, and Bob Wilson. Since 1998 he decided to share his passion and experiences through workshops and by teaching lamp-blowing at the Vetroricerca school in Bolzano. The collection of “Aliens”, creatures in mirrored borosilicate glass that he started creating in 2009 and is still elaborating today, has brought him great success. He has exhibited in several group and solo shows in prominent international museums, galleries and institution like the Millesgården Museum in Stockholm, Bornholms Kunstmuseum, Gudhjem, in Denmark, Sotheby’s in London, Triennale Design Museum in Milan as well as at the 54th Biennale of Art in Venice.
