Kiki van Eijk was born in Tegelen, The Netherlands, in 1978. She graduated Cum Laude in 2000 from the Design Academy Eindhoven, becoming famous for her “Kiki Carpet”. She finds great joy in, and gives importance to, “making things” by hand. Her nostalgic approach combined with her poetic and personal style come to life in a wide range of work, such as carpets, lighting, furniture, ceramics, glassware, and luxurious textiles. Today she works mainly on her own collection which has been presented in galleries and museums worldwide, in London, Paris, New York, Milan, Cologne, Venice, Kuwait, Tokyo, Montreal, Rome, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, and Moscow. Besides her own collection, she has worked on projects for such companies and institutions as Studio Edelkoort Paris, Design Academy Eindhoven, SKITSCH, MOOOI, Ahrend, Royal Leerdam Crystal, BKKC, van Kempen & Begeer, Serax, Brainport Operations, Forbo flooring, Audax Textile Museum, Zuiderzee museum Enkhuizen and many more. For 2 years, she has been the art director of the Design Academy restaurant “deWitte Tafel”. Her works are sold world-wide. and have appeared in such publications as Wallpaper, Elle Deco, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, de Architect, Icon magazine, Glamour, and The International Design Year Book.
